We were lucky enough to celebrate Avery's first birthday with our family, including Sammie and Shane who surprised us and flew up for a few days to join in on the fun! It was a beautiful day with a lot of love and fun memories. Avery enjoyed her presents, cake (despite her slightly clean cake smash) and her company. It was pretty hard for me to not go all out for Avery's birthday. I mean, she only turns 1 once! With The Very Hungry Caterpillar as her theme, it could have been SO easy for me to go crazy with little details. I definitely made sure she had some cute things at her party, but at the same time had to realize that in reality this party was more for me than her 😉 I did enjoy making the collages of her photos from over the past year. It was really hard for me to pick out my favorites, but I did enjoy looking through them all and reminiscing. Of course when Sammie was up here she got some gorgeous photos. Avery is one sweet and happy girl! Now on to toddlerhood!
