Virginia Beach

We went on an awesome family vacation to Virginia Beach back in June with my side of the family and our family friends, the Boyles. Avery had such a great time seeing all her family again and meeting her new friend, little Camden! Avery was the best traveler making the long car ride down to Virginia (13 hours), Virginia to Pennsylvania (8 hours) then Pennsylvania to New Hampshire (10 hours). I didn't even like sitting in the car that long and I'm not stuck in a car seat! She was amazing. Avery was in her element during vacation; being outside every day. We had our routine trees to visit daily (of course) and she really loved the pool. She was head chef one night when it was our turn to cook dinner for the group. We went down to the beach often where she loved to touch the waves and watch the dolphins swim. Not a huge fan of sand at this point, but otherwise she was allllll about vacation. I was a little nervous about traveling with her in the car for that long, sleeping in the same room as us, and really just being able to actually feel like I am on vacation with a one year old. Well I really had nothing to be nervous about because like I said she was the best traveler ever, she slept every night all night long and took all her naps, and in regards to it feeling like an actual vacation.. it was SO relaxing. I was able to get a little more "me" time when Avery was sleeping and could lay out by the pool or go down to the beach. Our phones were connected to her monitor so we had freedom during her naps and when she went to bed. It was a really awesome set up. Plus, she enjoyed spending some time with other family members as well. We had the best time. And we absolutely loved being able to get together with the Boyles for a whole week! We were also able to see some Pennsylvania family on our way home. It was really nice to see family, especially Avery's great-great grandfather. PS: Sammie was able to get some amazing 1 year photos of Avery at the beach which I am thrilled about! Stay tuned.
