5 Generations: Meeting Her Great-great-grandparents

Travelling with an infant leads to a whole new level of travel. The entire definition of travel is different. Between diapers, burp cloths, bottles, pack n play, etc you would think we were moving across the country or something. The idea of "packing light" no longer exists (though I'm sure Chris would say packing light was never a concept for me). Having said that, Avery herself is a fantastic little traveler. She pretty much slept in the car the whole time or was able to entertain herself by chatting or batting at a toy. My family really enjoyed meeting her. We are so blessed to have the rare occurrence of 5 generations; not only once but twice! Both are on my mother's side; one is my grandmother's father and the other is my grandfather's mother. Both of my great-grandparents were able to hold Avery and were so thrilled to spend some time with her. It was a very special trip. Travelling with a 7 week old is not easy but it was totally worth it. Though Avery will not be able to remember her visit, I know I will and I will cherish it forever.

For All the Things My Hands Have Held, the Best By Far Is You

This beautiful being has been on this earth for 7 weeks and I fall in love with her more and more each day. She has already taught me so much. She is a lot of work but a lot of fun. She is so smiley and loves to coo and chat. She continues to love playing on her mat and rolled from her belly to her back this week. Chris and I also went on our first date night since Avery was born. It was nice to have time, just the two of us! I finally understand the "parental worry". I knew she was okay but still had her in the back of my mind. It's crazy how it automatically kicks in the minute they are born. I no longer just have me to worry about; I have this little human too. Who is quite possibly the best adventure I have been on. She is our little beautiful, mysterious creature who I am beyond blessed to call my own.

Avery meets her newest friend, Robbie!

On Independence Day, the world welcomed Avery's newest friend (and future husband hehe) Robert Gerard Napoli II. He weighs 8lbs and is 21 inches long. Almost identical to Avery's measurements when she was born! He is so sweet and we are so excited for Jon and Whitney. I can't wait to see them both grow up together. I am so lucky to be going through motherhood with one of my best friends. Congratulations to the Napolis!
