We Wish You and Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

This holiday season was one to remember. It was Avery's first Christmas where she was excited about her presents and enjoyed opening them up (for the most part). She met the big guy in the red suit. Not so sure about him this year, but next year I feel we will have a big believer! She is totally obsessed with the train table that Santa brought her, as well as her kitchen set. She loves to pretend to cook and can make a pretty mean cup of fake tea. Avery also got some Moana items for Christmas which were, of course, a hit. This continues to be her favorite of all time and yes, she still throws her hands up while singing Moana songs (that will never get old 😍). The holidays also brought us the stomach bug which thankfully hit Avery and I before Christmas and hit Chris after Christmas. So we were lucky enough to enjoy the actual holiday without anyone under the weather. This year we were also able to make it down to Pennsylvania to visit with family. Avery is an amazing traveler and we are so lucky. She was extremely flexible and enjoyable the whole trip. We were blessed that Avery was able to spend some time with her great-great grandfather again. It was a wonderful visit, that came complete with a 5 generation photo. Auntie Sammie and Uncle Shane came up from Texas for the week as well and she was able to have some quality time with them.

She is starting to test us more and her "toddlerisms" are at times frustrating but for the most part are pretty hysterical. For example. At times when I am telling Avery not to do something I'll say something like "I'm sorry, that's a no thank you" or "Not right now, I'm sorry" So now if I am doing something that she does not like she will yell at me "Sorrrryyyy!!" 😐 Avery is also beginning to copy things we say. The other day my mother-in-law was telling me how Avery was being extra salty after nap and spitting her food out and laughing about it. I responded with a very sarcastic "Oh, awesome." Right away Avery looked at me and in the same tone said "Oh, awesome." Welp, filter is now a must. Now it's time to brave the rest of the winter with our little monkey. Bring on 2018! We look forward to what this year will bring! Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
