Happy 8th Month, Avery Lynn!
At the 98th percentile for height and weight, Avery is measuring at 22 lbs and 29 in long. She is really coming into her own, with lots of smiles, bigger laughs and expressing her likes and dislikes with absolute certainty. She has very big opinions for such a small person and if she does not like something she will let you know it. I swear some of her screams only the dog can hear. Along with her inaudible screeching, she also loves to chat with anyone who will listen. Avery is starting to say little things like "uh-oh", "yum", "mama" and "dada". Of course the uh-oh is usually followed by her dropping something on the floor. She continues to crawl around like a mad woman, getting into everything and exploring her world. She loves to stand with help but her absolute favorite is bouncing and jumping. The girl never stops!! (not that she ever did before, she's been go go go since the womb.) She loves looking at herself in the mirror (shocker) and one of her favorite games is peek-a-boo. She is beginning to play that game with her own reflection too and thinks it's hilarious. Avery is still enjoying her food and loving to explore new foods. She tries anything and everything and beginning to eat table foods, especially at dinner time with the family. She is also starting to prefer the sippy cup over her bottle; loves to drink her milk and water out of it! Her teething epidemic continues as her top teeth still have not popped through, but her bottom teeth are in and totally adorable (and sharp!!) Her demeanor is amazing; so sweet and loving, but definitely can be sassy too. She gives the best hugs and kisses. Being Avery's mom has brought me such joy, exhaustion and pure love.
