Happy 5 Months, Avery Lynn!!

Happy 5 months to our little princess, Avery Lynn. At this point, she is a drooling machine. She is constantly gnawing, chewing, drooling and now even sporting some rosy cheeks. I swear she puts everything in her mouth and except for the occasional dog or cat hair that gets in there I pretty much let her put anything in her mouth. I mean, that's how she's discovering the world, right? Along with soothing her gums, so it's a win win. We keep waiting to see a little tooth pop through. It's only a matter of time, people. For now, she's got the most beautiful, toothless smile ever. The happiest baby. She loves to chat, coo, scream, cough, babble - whatever will get your attention. Yes, shocker - she loves to be the center of attention. Avery's laugh is contagious. It's the most beautiful sound I've ever heard (except I am also a big fan of our sweet little talks we have together at night when she's sleepy - her coos are just the sweetest). She loves talking to herself in the mirror and absolutely LOVES music. Her favorite song is I Love You a Bushel and a Peck. But of course she loves anything with a good beat. Avery is constantly moving. Wanting to go go go. Right now she is inch worming on her belly and it is only a matter of time before she starts to crawl. Bath time is another favorite of hers. She LOVES to splash and play in the water. She loves her rubber ducky! We pretty much play in the water until it's no longer warm enough because she has so much fun! Another Avery favorite: FOOD. She loves food! The way she stares at me when I eat my dinner, I swear she's going to jump right out of her high chair and steal my food from me. Right now it seems as though sweet potatoes are her favorite veggie and pears are her favorite fruit. We are having fun introducing new foods to her. At this time, there really isn't anything she hasn't liked - except maybe peas. Always finished her meal, but definitely not a favorite. She loves to play with her spoon and bowl when her meal is done and actually holds the spoon pretty well. I love watching her personality shine through more and more every day. She is such a sweet kid already and I love that about her. But she definitely has some sass as well and I can't say that I am surprised! She has been nothing but a joy. Avery is sitting up with support but can pretty much hold herself up during seated play. She is able to reach for her toys and loves to shake them around. She has also found the infamous joy of dropping toys and watching mommy pick them up. As exhausting as motherhood is - there is nothing more rewarding. On occasion I will still have a mini anxiety attack, almost like a reality check, I have a child and I am in charge of parenting her and molding her into a good human being that contributes to society. Yikes. For now I will just focus on keeping her alive and at the end of the day when I lay her down for the night I will take a deep breath, pat myself on the back and know that I am doing my best.

Fall Fun

Sooooo many pictures. But I can't help it. She's just so cute. Avery has my heart. And yes, I forced my child to sit in a pumpkin. She loved it! <3
